Nomad Spirit 2025 - EUNIC funded International Public Art Program
THE WANDERING FACE

The Nomad Spirit 2025 public art program was held in Tsagaandelger soum, Dundgovi aimag, Mongolia focusing on public awareness on climate changes. Project involved artists from 6 countries, including Chinzorig Ryenchin-Ochir (Mongolia), Elina Holley (Finland), Fred Martin (France), Linus Riepler (Austria), Marcus Grysczok (Germany), Misheel Ganbold (Mongolia/Canada), Munkh-Erdene Munkhzorig (Mongolia), Solongo Tseekhuu (Mongolia). Key activities included abstract painting class, stop-motion film workshop, site-specific installations, contemporary dance class and community art exhibitions, involving local community and artists. Natural and upcycled materials such as stones, tree branches, natural clay, and discarded household items, sheep wool, shearling, collected litters were used to create site-specific artworks reflecting climate themes and local traditions.
The program was implemented by the Alliance Française d’Oulan-Bator / Монгол - Францын төв, Goethe-Institut Mongolei, The Embassy of Finland in Beijing, the Embassy of Austria in Beijing, MCASA, and its affiliated Red Corner international artist-in-residence program and curated by Gantuya Badamgarav, founder of the Mongolian Contemporary Art Support Association (MCASA).

(English text below) Нүүдэлчин Ухаан 2025 урлагийн хөтөлбөрийг Дундговь аймгийн Цагаандэлгэр суманд хэрэгжүүллээ. Төсөлд уран бүтээлч Р.Чинзориг (Монгол), Элина Холли (Финлянд), Фред Мартин (Франц), Линус Риплер (Австри), Маркус Гришзок (Герман), Г.Мишээл (Монгол/Канад), М.Мөнх-Эрдэнэ (Монгол), Ц.Солонго (Монгол) нар оролцсон. Хөтөлбөрийн хүрээнд абстракт зураг, стоп мөүшн кино, контемпорари бүжгийн чиглэлээр орон нутгийн хүүхдүүдэд хичээл орж, хамтдаа бүтээсэн уран бүтээлийн үзэсгэлэн болон бүжгийн тоглолтыг гадаа оронд зайнд зохион байгууллаа. Мөн уран бүтээлчид тухайн газар нутагт зориулан баримал, өрөг ажлууд бүтээж суурилуулав. Чулуу, модны мөчир, байгалийн шавар, хаягдсан гэр ахуйн эд зүйлс, хонины ноос, хяргас, цуглуулсан хог зэрэг байгалийн болон дахин боловсруулсан материалыг ашиглан цаг уурын сэдэв, нутгийн онцлогийг тусгасан урлагийн бүтээлүүд тууриваснаараа онцлог байв.

Branches de saules et de noisetiers
À l'entrée de la cité médiévale de Ceske Budejovice est arrivé un nouveau Samson.
Un masque géant fait de branches de saule local a poussé à la porte de la galerie d'art Rabenstenjska, nouveau gardien au pied de la tour Rabenstein.
Il semble toujours continuer à grandir et à s'étendre sur les murs du bâtiment
et avale tout visiteur qui ose entrer dans sa bouche.
À l'intérieur a été créée une installation in situ regroupant plus de 200 moulages en plâtre de visages d'habitants résultant des performances des Baptêmes de terre
qui ont eu lieu pendant une semaine en juillet 2024.
Un rituel artistique où le participant est invité à plonger son visage dans une argile douce locale
et y laisser son empreinte.
Tous les moulages de visages seront restitués le 26 septembre à tous les baptisés !

Willow and hazel branches
At the entrance of the medieval city of Ceske Budejovice has arrived a new Samson.
A giant mask made of local willow branches has grown at the gate of Rabenstenjska art gallery, new watchman at the bottom of the tower Rabenstein.
It still seems to keep growing and expanding on the walls of the building
and swallows any visitors who dares enter its mouth.
Inside has been created a site specific installation gathering more than 200 plaster casts of inhabitants faces resulting from the performance Earth baptisms which took place during one week in july 2024.
An artistic ritual where the participant is invited to dive its face into soft local clay and let its imprint.
All the face casts will be restitutated on 26th september to all baptized!

BAPTÊMES DE TERRE AU MUDO, BEAUVAIS, juin 2024
Osez tenter l'expérience des "Baptêmes de terre" avec l'artiste Fred Martin
dans le cadre des "Rendez-vous aux jardins" du 31 mai au 12 juin 2024.
Un événement unique et original au musée
où l'artiste propose de créer une mosaïque de visages en volumes,
disséminés dans les jardins du palais épiscopal.
